Hospitals across the nation are working to continually improve the safety and quality of care they provide to their patients and many of them have committed to publicly sharing their progress towards those goals.

The Leapfrog Group works with hospitals to publicly report their status on measures of patient safety. Hospitals participating in the Hospital Quality Alliance have agreed to share report cards on how many of their patient receive the care that experts recommend for heart attack, heart failure, pneumonia or surgery.
