History/Overview
The Mail Handlers Benefit Plan (MHBP) was created in 1963 and is
sponsored by the National Postal Mail Handlers Union (NPMHU). We
have served federal and postal employees and annuitants for over
40 years, offering comprehensive benefits at affordable
rates.
MHBP offers health plans nationwide to federal and postal employees
and annuitants. All three of our health plan options are supported
by our customer-centric services:
24/7 Customer Service—You can reach us (talk
to a live person) anytime of the day or night including weekends
and holidays—24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Nationwide PPO Network—Our PPO network boasts
over 600,000 physicians and allied health care professionals and
4,600 hospitals in all 50 states, the District of Columbia and Puerto
Rico. No specialist referrals are required and you don’t have
to enroll with a primary care physician. With MHBP you have complete
freedom of choice!
Nationwide Pharmacy Network—The First Heath
Rx Network includes over 56,000 participating retail pharmacies
nationwide and mail-order pharmacy too.
Clinical Support—Through our Care Support
Program our members have an extra resource to turn to for general
health information and care management. Our nurse case managers
are available 24/7.
We aim to deliver the very best for our members. You can count
on MHBP for great benefits, affordable premiums and low out-of-pocket
costs. We ready to serve you!
